Our Refugium Altstadt is located right at the entrance to the old town of Monschau in the Eifel National Park.
The house was originally built directly on the Rur River and therefore offers beautiful, idyllic views.

Hohes Venn

The Hohes Venn begin right at the edge of Monschau. It can be reached by car in 10 minutes.
The raised bog is crisscrossed by hiking trails and lies predominantly in the Belgian part of our cross-border Eifel – Hohes Venn National Park.

Rursee

Rursee (Rur Reservoir) is a recreational area of ​​exceptional quality. It can be reached from Monschau in 20 minutes by car.
Exploring the Rursee area by bicycle is highly recommended. During the season, excursion boats also operate, and boat rentals are available at various locations.
